mcmath faces another deadline today fighting to keep her on life support. she was pronounced brain dead december 12 after complications from tonsil surgery. amy hollyfield is in the newsroom with the latest? >> the hospital officials say they will shut east ventilator today at 5:00. the restraining order requiring the hospital to keep 13-year-old jahi mcmath on a breathing machine will expire. a judge has ruled she is brain dead and no court hearings are scheduled. a small grew of supporters gathered. the family says they still believe she is alive and they have looked foe another medical facility to care for her. >> we believe in god and a miracle. >> is it coming? >> that is completely up for god. >> the family has raised $21,000 on the web site to pay for the transfer to another facility. one facility that offered to take her has backed out and the family has said they have

another one this new york that could accept her but children's hospital oakland says it has not heard from any other facility. six physicians agree she is dead after reviewing the case. a person stole an ambulance from the scene of an emergency medical aid call. the plan was involved a couple of blocks away. a few small items are missing from inside. they declined to say what they are. the crew working for san mateo county responded to a home after midnight. the medics were treating the patient someone jumped in the ambulance and drove off. the ambulance found abandoned around the corner. increased safety news are in place a year after a petaluma team wondered and died of

hyperthermia at the three day festival in lake tahoe that started yesterday and ends new year pots. a nine-year-old was found near a snowbank with drugs if her system and believe she was lost walking back to her hotel. organizers are adding heated areas half a mile of the festival to prevent the same thing from happening this year. temperatures are expected to drop below freezing. >> 74 remain stranded on a russian ship trapped in sea ice off the cost of antarctica. a ship was stuck when ice formed around it. the passengers have plenty of supplies. efforts by ice breaker ships to reach them have been unsuccessful. in the next 48 hours, a decision will be made whether to keep trying to rescue them by

north 238 in hayward, east east 14th a big rig and disabled trailer tractor is blocking the off-ramp so you could see a delay there. elsewhere, we have a new problem in redwood city area on 280 in the northbound direction partly blocking the left hand lane with an accident. now, if you are headed to the downtown concord and walnut creek area it is looking good southbound 680, no delays, and the tail lights headed to north main and san jose we have no problems on 101 making the drive through and up toward the peninsula and everyone is moving at the limit. >> straight ahead, software security experts are predicting a jump in hack attacks in 2014 in the bloomberg business report. >> the latest on michael schumacher badly injured in a

to remain on a ventilator expired at 5:00 p.m. the crowd sourcing page funding her transfer to another facility has raised $20,000. a spokesman for children's hospital oakland has nut heard of any new options of where to move jahi mcmath pronounced brain dead december 12th after complications from a surgery that the hospital says was anything but routine. amy hollyfield will have more on the story at 6:00. >> develop news in russia this morning, another deadly suicide bombing is raising fears of the upcoming winter olympics, a troll bus in the city of volgograd was the target. this is a day after a suicide bombing at a train station in the same city killing 17 people. the explosion was caught by camera and officials say it was an act of terrorism and russia is on edge, set to host a winter olympic game in six weeks.

we there will be a report next half hour. san jose police are investigating a shooting that occurred last night at 10:30 outside this mcdonald's near shopping center. paramedics rushed the victim to a trauma center but this is no word on the victim's condition. in further details are released. >> san francisco police are investigating a deadly shooting yesterday morning in japantown after someone shot a 36-year-old while a man stood in a crowd of people after leaving a night club the he died after being rushed to the hop. >> firefighter is one of two who went to the hospital after a fire truck smashed into a car. it happened in san francisco. witnesses say the truck company 1 had the emergency lights on and sirens blaring while headed northbound on 5th hitting a mercedes that was headed west on hour street.

up to $1,000 in bonuses under the new agreement. under the new contract, bart agrees to pay workers $500 for every 1 percent commuter ridership exceeds projections. the bonuses are capped at $1,000 a year each year of the four year contract. >> the losses from august massive wildfire could reach $2 billion. the "los angeles times" reports that the losses from the fire can range from $250 million and $1.8 billion. the study places this amount on losses in environmental benefits, carbon storage and property values but says the estimates are conservative. this was the third largest fire on report. >> open burning of grass is not allowed to many counties because of increased fire danger.
